Job summary

Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance is seeking a Security Officer II for the 2nd shift to safeguard guests, staff, and animals across the DZCA campus. You will patrol, monitor CCTV and access control, respond to emergencies, and document incidents while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

This role requires 1–2 years of security experience, strong communication skills, the ability to work weekends/holidays, and a valid driver’s license; bilingual Spanish/English candidates are encouraged.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of civilian or military security or safety experience.
• Experience in a high-volume, customer-focused or nonprofit setting is preferred.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct frequent and visible patrols across the DZCA campus to identify hazards and security concerns.
• Monitor CCTV, access control, weather systems, and other security technologies.
• Identify and report suspicious or unsafe activities affecting guests, staff, animals, property, or assets.
• Respond to emergencies and implement procedures; document incidents.
• Record patrols, tasks, lost and found items, and other data in electronic systems.
