Job summary

Vast Space Llc. is seeking a Security Officer I to join our Long Beach team. You will report to the Senior Supervisor, Security and support the development of security systems for our space stations and facilities.

This full-time, non-exempt role requires guarding duties across weekday and weekend shifts in a vibrant, aerospace-enabled environment. Responsibilities include visitor verification, badge control, patrols, incident reporting, and inter-department security support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
• Valid California BSIS Guard Card or ability to obtain before employment.
• Two or more years of security operations experience, preferably in industrial, aerospace, or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Verify identity and point of contact for all visitors per access procedures.
• Issue and manage visitor and temporary employee badges to ensure only authorized individuals enter designated areas.
• Conduct routine patrols of buildings, perimeter areas, and critical infrastructure to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe, document, and report suspicious behavior, security violations, or safety concerns to security management.
• Escort vendors and contractors as required, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
• Provide security assistance to other departments and support for special events or operational activities.
• Maintain accurate incident reports, shift logs, and security documentation.
• Respond professionally to security inquiries and emergencies per company policies.
