Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Observation in Darlington, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and provide outstanding customer service. You will communicate professionally with employees and visitors while helping maintain a welcoming, secure environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, grounds, perimeter areas, and access points; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
• Monitor access to assigned areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate activity and incident documentation.
• Help to deter unauthorized activity by observing and reporting unusual conditions, equipment concerns, and policy violations to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
