Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for full-time overnight patrol in San Diego, CA. You will monitor healthcare location(s), deter incidents with a visible presence, and provide courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff while following site procedures.

Responsibilities include patrols, access control, incident reporting, and collaborating with supervisors to maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Possess supervisory experience.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, patients, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout healthcare and research locations, including building interiors, parking areas, and perimeter areas, while reporting observed concerns.
• Respond to incidents, medical-related events, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities according to site procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and help maintain orderly entry and exit at the location.
• Complete detailed reports and communicate observations, incidents, and security-related concerns to supervisors and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess supervisory experience.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
