Job summary

Billings Clinic is seeking a Security Officer for the full-time night shift at the main campus in Billings, MT. The role requires maintaining safety, protecting staff and patients, monitoring entrances, and responding to incidents.

Wage starts at $20.67–$24.29 per hour, with non-exempt status and a typical 80-hour biweekly pay period. Qualified applicants will have a High School diploma or GED, Montana driver’s license, and IAHSS Basic Certification within six months.

Qualifications

• IAHSS Basic Certification required within six months of appointment.
• Montana Driver's License required; ability to meet Montana Board of Private Security licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Protect staff, patients, visitors, and property from theft, damage or hazards.
• Ensure proper security at all Billings Clinic locations.
• Monitor entrances/exits during emergencies and control access as needed.
• Observe and report incidents, accidents, or suspicious activities.

Essential Job Functions

• Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic's mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.
• Protect staff, patients, visitors, and property from theft or damage, or persons from hazards or interference, including the potential for violence in the workplace
• Ensure proper physical security is maintained at all locations of the Billings Clinic Campus
• Maintains and displays good public relations skills when interacting with visitors and staff
• Monitors entrances and exits during Emergency Management Situations to include Flood Control
• Prevents unapproved or unlawful entry in conjunction with Patients Plan of Care
• Assist Clinical staff in managing patient care through AEGIS taught applications
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
• Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment
• Transport or Escort Staff and Patients as needed
• Performs all other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• High School or GED

Certifications and Licenses

• IAHSS Basic Certification completed within six (6) months of appointment.
• Must maintain valid Montana State Driver's License.
• Must be able to meet and continue to meet requirements of the Montana Board of Private Security to be license as a Security Officer.
• Be able to pass a drug screen.
• Successfully pass a background check that includes personal references, DMV check criminal history, employment and education verification, and DMV check.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
