Job Description
As a Security Officer Full Time Driver in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As a Security Officer at a chemical/petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide professional customer service and communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. What You’ll Do:
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate at a chemical/petrochemical location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, hazardous-material concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following established site protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, buildings, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor access control activities, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity in accordance with site requirements.
- Complete accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation, and communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

- Must possess one or more of the following:
- Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
- Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
- Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
- A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch
- Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active duty military
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
- Have customer service experience, preferred.
- Have CPR/First Aid certification, preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
