Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Patrol Alarm Response in Sheridan, IN to protect clients and assets across utilities and other sites. The role involves patrolling, monitoring access, reporting incidents, and delivering excellent service as part of a collaborative team.

The position is full-time with a pay rate of $21.00 per hour and a night shift schedule Sunday through Saturday at 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including multiple days per week.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age.
• At least 4 years of military or law enforcement experience or a criminal justice degree.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Age requirement: 18+ for unarmed, 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Criminal history considered per laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing depends on state/local regulations.
• Valid driver's license required for driving roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to utility operations personnel, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific security procedures.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and maintain entry records.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities and perimeter areas.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following site procedures.
• Document incidents and assist with access control and traffic direction during outages and events.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to utility operations personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access requirements, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain accurate entry records, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of utility facilities, buildings, parking areas, equipment yards, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and communicating observations to the appropriate personnel.
• Document security-related incidents, patrol findings, and operational concerns in clear, timely reports, and assist with access control and traffic direction during outages, maintenance activities, and emergency events.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be a graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have at least 4 years of military or law enforcement experience or a criminal justice degree.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
