Job summary

World Changers Ministries is seeking a Security Officer in Atlanta, GA. This full-time role protects property, personnel, and ministry interests, with rotating shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage.

Responsibilities include controlling access, guiding visitors, logging attendance, monitoring surveillance, and producing daily reports. A high school diploma is required; CPR/First Aid certification is a plus. Prior security experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Control the entrance and departure of employees, visitors and vehicles per protocols.
• Provide information and direction to all visitors.
• Escort visitors, volunteers and contractors when needed.
• Assign temporary badges and log names of employees without badges.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and report incidents to management.
• Prepare daily activity reports and incident documentation for management.
• Test security systems and operate metal detectors.
• Patrol premises to deter crime and maintain safety.
• Detain trespassers following legal protocols until authorities arrive.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

The Security Officer has the primary responsibility of protecting the property, personnel and interests of World Changers Ministries.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

HOURS

Full-time, with rotating shifts. Coverage includes overnight, weekends, and holidays as needed to maintain 24/7 security.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors and vehicles according to protocols


• Provides information and direction to all visitors


• Ensures all visitors, volunteers and contractors have the proper escort from the department they are seeking by directing them to the reception desk, if an escort is needed


• Assigns temporary badges and log the names of all employees who have reported to work without their access badges in the temporary log binder


• Monitors surveillance cameras to watch out for any disruptions or unlawful activities


• Provides detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to management


• Tests security systems and operating metal detectors


• Uses provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner


• Patrols and monitors activities on the company’s premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure


• Evicts trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over


• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional certifications in security, such as CPR or First Aid, are a plus.


• Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement is strongly preferred.


• Must meet state requirements regarding criminal history. (Report cannot reflect felony convictions without pardon, convictions of any crime involving moral turpitude without pardon, declarations by any court of competent jurisdiction to be incompetent by reason of mental defect or disease without restoration, dishonorable discharge from the military, drug or alcohol addiction or abuse.
