Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Whittier, CA. This role offers fixed anchor shifts and the option to pick up additional shifts via the scheduling platform, with a pay rate of $23.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include patient and staff security, incident response, and regular site patrols, supporting a healthcare location. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred prior security or customer service experience.

Qualifications

• Be 21 years of age or older.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

As a Security Officer Flex Hospital Access Control in Whittier, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $23.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tuesday 05:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• Thursday 05:00 PM - 10:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem‑solving manner, including assisting with de‑escalation and reporting security‑related concerns.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and observe unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and public areas, help to control entry and exit activity, and report maintenance, hazards, and/or suspicious behavior according to site procedures.
• Document incidents, patrol activity, and daily observations in required reports, and communicate relevant updates with Allied Universal supervisors and site contacts as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be 21 years of age or older.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
