Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Armed security/military/law enforcement experience of at least 1 year.
• Able to work varying shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Hold a California weapons permit with a 9mm endorsement.
• High school diploma or equivalent; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols on foot or in vehicle.
• Monitor for security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or notify authorities in emergencies.
• Warn violators and manage entry points.
• Observe personnel to prevent theft and ensure proper removal.
• Investigate incidents and maintain post logs.
• Assist customers, employees and visitors professionally.
• Make emergency notifications per site Post Orders.

In this role, you can expect to work 30–40 hours per week, offering steady income and opportunities for growth. Your schedule will vary week to week, based on a combination of manager‑assigned shifts and those you pick up through our Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments will change regularly, making this an ideal opportunity for individuals who are adaptable, dependable, and ready to take on new challenges. Please note that you will be assigned to work irregular shifts with little to no advance notice to support client needs.

Pay Rate: $31.00 / Hour

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders

Basic Qualifications:

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Possess a 10mm caliber endorsement.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be available for last‑minute shift scheduling.
• Possess a .40 caliber endorsement.
• Be willing to travel the required distance to assigned locations.
• Possess a California weapons permit with a 9mm caliber endorsement.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
