Job summary

Securitas USA is hiring a Security Officer Flex to protect client sites in Colorado Springs and surrounding areas. The role focuses on access control, patrols, and rapid response to incidents, with emphasis on safety, customer service, and professional conduct.

You will greet visitors, monitor entrances, conduct internal and mobile patrols, and document daily activities using handheld devices. This position requires adaptability, reliable transportation, and a willingness to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and able to work various shifts.
• High School Diploma or GED required; security, law enforcement, or military experience a plus.
• Must be willing to travel 25–30 miles to work and possess a Colorado driver’s license.
• Swing or grave shift availability required; capable of working in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Monitor premises, including access control and patrolling multiple sites.
• Greet vendors, customers, and visitors; provide guidance and assistance as needed.
• Complete daily activity reports and incident logs via handheld devices and client systems.
• Respond to alarms and incidents following client requirements and safety protocols.
• Maintain a calm, professional presence; de-escalate as necessary and protect property.

Security Officer Flex - Full Time

Primary Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Some sites not accessible by public transportation due to location and / or shift.

Wage: $19.50/HR

The Security Officer Flex helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.

What You Can Expect

• Report alarms in accordance with client requirements, and monitor cameras.
• Greet vendors, customers, residents, drivers, client employee’s, client, and aid as needed.
• Conduct internal patrol and/or external mobile patrol when needed to check for unsafe conditions, hazards, security violations, blocked ingress and egress, mechanical problems, unauthorized persons, inspects grounds using appropriate equipment and protective gear.
• Monitor entrance/exits and provide guidance to site visitors, and/or vendors.
• Complete daily activity (DAR), incident reports and logs via Securitas and client systems.
• Provide an atmosphere in which all customers, residents, driver's client employees, site visitors, client, and Management know their needs are being met.
• Present a good image to client, public, and Management.
• Operates in a calm manner and directs persons who cause disruption to leave property.
• Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations; sets up barriers and signage, and provides direction or information to others.
• Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to client, Company Management, or public safety authorities as appropriate for the circumstances and/or as required by the site.
• Acts to ensure that all property removal is conducted within appropriate policy requirements and in accord with client standards.
• Provides coverage for call-off's, leave of absence, FMLA / FAMLI, and no shows to shift throughout Colorado Springs, Fountain, and Manitou.
• Carries out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.

Basic Requirements

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
• Appropriate I9 Identifications needed.
• Must be willing to travel 25 - 30 miles to and from work.
• Must have Swing or Grave shift availability.
• Must be reliable, accountable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills a plus.
• Must be able to interact with and greet site visitors, residents customers, drivers, client employees, or client in a positive manner, while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Intermediate computer / technology skills needed to ensure completion of daily activity reports / logs via handheld devices and the ability to report alarms via the telephone.
• Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills to assist vendors, truck drivers, the public, the client, Site Supervisors, and Office Management.
• Must be open to communication and feedback from the client, Site Supervisor, and Office Management.
• Must be able to adhere to 15 minute, and lunch breaks.
• Must be able to work in a team environment to ensure site / organizational goals are achieved daily.
• Must be able to learn and adhere to security operations.
• Must have a personal vehicle, Colorado Driver's License, and a clean driving record due to required mobile patrol.
• Must be able to obtain the Colorado Springs Guard Card License ($117.00 out of pocket) before 1st day at client site. (free Guard Card Class for Securitas new hires to offset the cost of the required license).
• Must be able to attend in-person interview and in-person orientation in Colorado Springs if hired.
