Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A background investigation, drug screen, and licensing where required by state/local laws are conditions of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, patients, and staff by carrying out security procedures and site policies.
• Monitor and control access to the location by verifying credentials and directing individuals per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies in a calm, professional manner and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, entrances, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter.
• Document observations and incidents and communicate findings to leadership and site contacts.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Passage Oversight in Lansing, MI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

DayTimeSun06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, patients, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access to the healthcare location by verifying credentials, managing visitor entry, maintaining visitor records, and directing individuals in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Document observations, incidents, and access-control activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
