Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced for Jacksonville, FL. This role offers fixed night shifts with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts via the scheduling platform, increasing earnings while gaining experience across multiple sites. Pay rate is $18.25 per hour.

The schedule is Saturday 11:00 PM to 07:00 AM, with potential growth toward full-time hours up to 40 per week. Prior armed security or related experience is preferred, along with the ability to pass

• Respond to incidents, alarms, and disturbances with calm, documented reporting.
• Maintain awareness of infrastructure and report security concerns to site leadership.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Field Operations in Jacksonville, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.25 / Hour

Job Schedule: Sat 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, contractors, and utility operations staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of utility facilities, substations, perimeter areas, access points, and nearby grounds to help identify unauthorized activity, hazards, and unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to restricted operational areas, verify credentials as required, and document visitor, contractor, vehicle, and delivery activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and complete required reports.
• Maintain awareness of utility infrastructure and operational environments, report damaged barriers, unsecured access points, suspicious activity, and other security‑related concerns to site leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least one year of armed security‑related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
