Job summary

Allied Universal® in Baytown, TX is seeking a part-time Security Officer - East FWY to safeguard clients across utilities and other industries. You will manage access points, verify credentials, and deliver courteous customer service while following site procedures.

This role requires a valid driver's license and driving duties; you will work daytime and night shifts with a flexible schedule and opportunity to expand into new shifts through our Claim a Shift platform.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers by carrying out site-specific access control procedures.

• Control entry/exit of vehicles and personnel at designated gates and report concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly following procedures.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and direct individuals according to established site procedures.
• Control entry and exit of vehicles and personnel at designated gates, inspect documentation as required, and report access concerns to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and perimeter locations to identify and report security-related concerns and help to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
