Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Credentialing Operations in Townsend, VA. You will serve clients, manage access, verify credentials at a distribution location, and maintain a visible security presence with integrity and teamwork.

The position is full-time with a pay rate of $18.50 per hour. The shift schedule includes night hours, supervising entry procedures, and supporting a safe, welcoming environment for employees and drivers.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories per applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while carrying out security procedures and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access by verifying credentials, issuing visitor passes, documenting entries/exits, and directing authorized personnel.
• Screen visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers per site requirements; maintain access-control records.
• Respond to incidents and access-control concerns in a calm, solution-focused manner; document observations.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

As a Security Officer Credentialing Operations in Townsend, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and drivers. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate professionally, and help deter security-related incidents while delivering service with integrity, teamwork, reliability, agility, and innovation.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the distribution location by verifying credentials, issuing visitor passes, documenting entries and exits, and directing authorized personnel to designated areas.
• Screen incoming visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers in accordance with site requirements, maintaining accurate access-control records and communicating relevant information to site contacts.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
