Job summary

Allied Universal in Miami, FL is seeking a Security Officer Armed Route Patrol to safeguard government locations, monitor areas, and deter incidents. You will join a team delivering professional service, using strong communication and customer service to support daily operations and after-hours patrols.

The role offers full-time hours with a fixed evening schedule and a pay rate of $22.26 per hour. A background check and drug screen are routine parts of the process, with licensing requirements

Qualifications

• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be able to ride a bike.
• Possess a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors, local authorities, and/or site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious behavior, prohibited items, and/or policy violations in accordance with post orders and client guidelines.
• Support emergency and routine operations by assisting with crowd management, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and providing visible armed presence during public-facing activities and after-hours patrols.

What You'll Do:
