Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer in Miami, Florida, to protect government locations and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a visible security presence.

You will perform armed patrols, verify entry permissions, respond to incidents, and prepare incident reports. The position requires relevant licenses or certificates, background checks, and a valid driver's license for driving roles where applicable.

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Honorably Discharged Veteran in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to situations as they arise. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $22.89 / Hour

Job Schedule:

This is a full-time position. You can expect to work a minimum of 30 hours per week. The schedule for this position has not been assigned yet. If you are selected to move forward, your schedule will be determined as you progress through the hiring, onboarding, and training process. Your manager will work with you to assign a schedule based on business needs before your start date.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, following site procedures for visitors, contractors, vehicles, and deliveries.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrol observations, incidents, and security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
• Possess a DD214 with Honorable Discharge OR Associates Degree/60 College Credits OR Police Academy Certificate OR Corrections Academy Certificate.
• Handcuffs/Pepper Spray/Baton preferred.
• Guard Card/License preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
