This job provides security for patients, guests, and employees as assigned, enforces company policies and procedures, and performs duties that ensure the security of all in a courteous and professional manner.

Education

Required - High School diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

Required - 1 year of experience in Security, law enforcement, or military

Certifications

Required - Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

Valid driver’s license in the state of practice and a clean DMV report

Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI), and firearms training

International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire/promotion

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval
  • Proficiency with Windows applications and keyboard
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • This position is considered Team A Essential Personnel and must report in during disasters
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to walk the property, including outside and interior areas, using stairwells in an 11-floor plus structure
Job Duties
  • Enforce all safety and security rules, regulations, and policies
  • Conduct routine inspections of company locations
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, report all occurrences promptly
  • Perform opening/lockdown of buildings as approved by Administration and other duties
  • Participate in emergency response and drills
  • Maintain required certifications and complete training timely
  • Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, respecting privacy and communication styles
  • Other duties as required
