Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to protect patients, visitors and staff across campus. This role enforces safety policies, conducts inspections, responds to incidents, and supports disaster readiness with professional conduct.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, 1 year in security or related fields, and certifications such as BLS, CPI, and IAHSS; valid driver's license; ability to communicate clearly in English; readiness to work flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in Security, law enforcement, or military.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Valid driver’s license and clean DMV report.
• CPI and firearms training.
• IAHSS Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire.
• Employment contingent upon successful completion of the FTO Program within the first 60 days of employment.
• Must have computer skills for data entry and information retrieval.
• Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to walk the company property including outdoor and indoor areas.

Responsibilities

• Enforces all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
• Conducts routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations of the company.
• Investigates accidents and other incidents which are assigned and reports all occurrences in a timely manner.
• Performs opening/lockdown of all buildings as approved by Administration and performs other safety and security related duties as assigned.
• Participates in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
• Maintains required annual certifications and completes training requirements within required time periods.
• Adapts behavior to the patient population, including privacy, introductions, explaining services, and obtaining permissions.
• Other related duties as required.

Education

• This position is considered Team A Essential Personnel and must report for duty in the event of a disaster.
