Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer – Armed Flex in Irvine, CA to provide reliable security coverage at a government site. The role offers flexible hours with fixed anchor shifts and the opportunity to earn more by picking up additional shifts through our platform. Pay rate is $28.00 per hour.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in security, an Armed Guard Card, and a HS diploma. You may be subject to background checks and drug screening where required.

As a Security Officer Armed Flex in Irvine, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, access concerns, and hazards.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and deliveries in accordance with site requirements.
• Maintain required reports, logs, and incident documentation, and carry authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, client policies, and Allied Universal procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a valid Armed Guard Card or License.
• Have at least 5 years of security‑related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
