Job summary

Cherokee Nation Businesses (CNB) is seeking a Security Guard to protect CNB facilities and personnel. The role includes patrolling, screening entrants, and responding to incidents with CPR/first aid when needed.

Qualified candidates have a GED or high school diploma, security experience, and licenses such as CLEET armed security. Ability to obtain CN Armed Security Officer license and pass drug testing is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 6 months security experience.
• CLEET armed security guard license required.
• Ability to acquire Cherokee Nation Armed Security Officer license.
• Knowledge of firearms and defensive tactics.
• Knowledge of surveillance systems and chain of evidence.
• Pass security custody control and weapons training.

Responsibilities

• Protect CNB facilities and report safety hazards to leadership.
• Prevent entry of prohibited items and address policy violations.
• Patrol interior and exterior CNB facilities.
• Greet guests and provide directions and assistance.
• Provide aid to guests or employees as needed.
• Respond to accidents with CPR/first aid as required.
• Monitor cameras in assigned areas and observe activity.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain security logs.
• Interviews witnesses and collects signatures per regulations.
• Lifts and carries items up to 50 lbs and works varied shifts.
• No supervisory responsibilities.

Provide a safe and secure environment for guests, vendors, and employees of Cherokee Nation Businesses (CNB).

Responsibilities

• Provides protection for the physical assets of CNB facilities including guests, vendors, and employees; reports all safety hazards to leadership.
• Prevents individuals from entering premises with prohibited items; addresses individuals who are in violation of policies and procedures.
• Patrols the physical facilities of CNB facilities including interior and exterior areas.
• Greets guests and provides directions and assistance, as needed.
• Provides aid to any guest or employee who may request or require it.
• Responds to accidents and incidents; performs CPR and first aid procedures, as needed.
• Detects suspicious activity and behavior of individuals and employees and notifies leadership.
• Maintains a good working relationship with local law enforcement agencies and fire and safety departments.
• Gathers information and prepares detailed written reports of incidents and maintains security logs in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Performs operational knowledge of excluded persons.
• Prepares written reports of investigations, criminal, and patrol activities.
• Interviews witnesses and obtains signatures; complies with legal regulations.
• Monitors cameras in all areas of facility as assigned by location.
• No supervisory/management authority.
• Work may be performed in a variety of settings, including climate-controlled office settings and/or outdoors in all types of weather.
• Work may require lifting and carrying materials up to 50lbs.
• Work requires working varied shifts including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and six (6) months of security experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• State of Oklahoma Council of Law Enforcement, Education, and Training (CLEET) armed security guard license required.
• Ability to acquire a Cherokee Nation Armed Security Officer license.
• Working knowledge of firearms and defensive tactics.
• Working knowledge of surveillance video system and how chain of evidence is maintained.
• Ability to pass a security approved custody control and weapons training.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
