Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking an Armed Security Officer in Miami, FL. You will provide customer service, conduct armed patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents at government facilities.

The role requires a Baton Certification and Guard/Armed Guard Licenses where applicable, with a focus on safety, integrity, and professional presence in diverse environments.

Qualifications

• DD214 with Honorable Discharge or Police/Corrections Academy Certificate; associate degree or 60 college credits.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Baton Certification is preferred.
• Armed Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws; driving license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while following site procedures and access-control protocols.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations calmly and coordinate with public-service personnel.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify entry, report suspicious activity and hazards per site procedures.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation with professional presence across environments.

As a Security Officer Armed Baton Certified Patrol in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor assigned areas, and support access control activities. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while responding to security-related concerns. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $22.26 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 07:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Thur 07:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Fri 07:00 AM - 06:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate public-service personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, maintain awareness of restricted areas, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and other required records while maintaining a professional presence in varied working environments and conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a DD214 with an Honorable Discharge, an associate degree, 60 college credits, a Police Academy Certificate, or a Corrections Academy Certificate.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• A Baton Certification is preferred.
• An Armed Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
