Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring for a full-time Security Officer at an aerospace and defense site in Roy, Utah. You will provide customer service to employees, visitors, and authorized contractors while enforcing site policies and responding to emergencies.

With a DoD Secret Clearance required, you will patrol facilities, verify access, monitor alarms, and document incidents, contributing to a safe and compliant environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background check as required by law.
• Criminal histories considered as allowed by applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and authorized contractors by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations per site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, visitors, deliveries, and vehicles.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, observations, and interactions; communicate with leadership and site contacts.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and authorized contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, visitors, deliveries, and vehicles in accordance with site-specific requirements.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, observations, and interactions accurately and promptly, communicating relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and designated site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
