Job summary

The Military, Veterans and Diverse Job Seekers is seeking a Security Officer to assist in providing physical security protection of CCR-L structures, properties, and materials. You will regulate movement, patrol, investigate unusual events, respond to alarms, document events, and submit reports.

Responsibilities include learning guard procedures and post layouts, escorting personnel, conducting rounds, and performing receptionist duties using a visitor control system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of work experience.
• Ability to use a computer and associated software.
• Ability to cover facility and conduct security rounds; respond to alarms.
• Ability to lift packages or materials weighing 10 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must be prepared to work different shifts and overtime hours on short notice as needs dictate.
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Through instructions and on-the-job training, becomes familiar with all normal and emergency Guard Force Procedures, each duty post, and the facility layout.
• Familiar with intrusion detection, video surveillance, and access control systems; report malfunctions.
• Escorts personnel and visitors; maintains sign-in logs and badge control.
• Patrols building interiors and exteriors; checks for security violations.
• Responds to alarms and emergencies; coordinates with Security Manager and emergency services.
• Performs receptionist duties using a visitor control system and related tasks.
