Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer Access Control Checkpoint in Wilmington, DE to protect transportation facilities and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment. You will verify credentials, monitor entry points, and provide excellent customer service to visitors and staff.

As an Access Control Officer, you will support a transportation location with a visible presence, conduct patrols, and log activities while adhering to site procedures and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, commuters, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a transportation parking location.
• Monitor access points, parking facility entrances and exits, gates, and credentialed access areas; verify authorized entry in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, vehicle-related issues, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of parking areas, pedestrian routes, access points, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports, documenting access-control events, observations, and actions taken in accordance with site procedures.
