Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is seeking a Security Officer at the Texas Civil Commitment Center in Littlefield, Texas, to maintain security, support daily operations, and serve with professionalism and accountability. The role requires enforcing rules, responding to emergencies, and supervising clients under 12-hour shifts (7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.) on an on-call basis.

A high school diploma or GED and a Texas driver’s license are required, with pay of $16 per hour and benefits including a

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the control, safety and security of the facility in accordance with MTC and TCCO directives.
• Search for contraband and provide security.
• Count, supervise and assist clients in housing, work and other areas.
• Observe and supervise clients, including long periods of sitting and standing.
• Perform pat searches and other security duties.
• Transfer and transport clients; restrain and secure combative clients as needed.
• Respond to emergencies, provide first aid and follow use-of-force procedures.
• Work overtime when directed.
• Read and apply information from client records; communicate relevant details to staff.
• Prepare and maintain records, forms and reports.
• Support areas such as commissary, transportation, recreation, intake and more.
• Assist in food services area by instructing clients in safe meal preparation.
• Transport clients to and from the facility per procedures.
• Promote positive social skills and accountability; ensure safety of staff, clients and property.
