Job summary

DK Security, Inc. seeks Uniform Security Officers to protect client buildings, grounds, assets, employees and visitors in Michigan. Officers provide exceptional customer service, conduct patrols, control access, and monitor for suspicious activity in a professional setting.

The role requires 18+ with a high school diploma or GED; armed work requires 21+ with a Michigan CPL or LEOSA; candidates must pass drug screening and maintain a clean driving record if driving.

Qualifications

• Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must pass drug screening at time of hire and randomly thereafter.
• Able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Armed security requires 21+ and Michigan CPL or LEOSA card.
• Must not have felonies or certain misdemeanors per MCL 338.1060.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license with clean record if driving company/client vehicles.
• Willing to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified and respond in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Guard posts at entry/exit points of client buildings and grounds.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients, employees, and visitors.
• Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior and exterior grounds.
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
• Check IDs for employees, vendors, and visitors.
• Monitor for suspicious persons, packages, and activities.
• Follow site-specific post guidelines and document daily activities.
• Report all incidents and perform other duties as assigned.

Uniform Security Officers at DK Security are responsible for protecting our clients’ buildings, grounds, assets, employees, and visitors from harm and criminal activity.

Job Duties

• Must provide exceptional customer service.
• Guard posts at the entry / exit points of the client buildings and grounds.
• Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of the interior and exterior of the grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
• Check for employee, vendor, and visitor identifications.
• Look for suspicious people, packages, and activities.
• Must follow site specific post guidelines.
• Document daily activities and report all incidents.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED, per MCL 338.1067
• 17(2). (Must also be at least 21 years old and be a Michigan CPL or LEOSA cardholder to perform armed security work).
• Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.1060
• 10(1)(c).
• Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses, per MCL 338.1060
• 10(1)(c).
• Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana).
• Must adhere to our company’s Uniform and Appearance policy and present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
• Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner. This includes the ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• If driving company or client vehicles, or if using your own vehicle for work activities, must possess a valid State of Michigan driver’s license and have a clean driving record with less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years, less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years, and no other major violations in the last 3 years.
• Must be willing to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified and be capable of administering this care in emergency situations.
• Must be able to move quickly, including running short distances, to respond in emergency situations.
