Job summary

MultiCare Health System is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors across its facilities in Spokane. This role reports to Security Services and emphasizes safety, policy enforcement and situational awareness in a hospital setting.

The position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid WA/ID driver’s license, BLS and First Aid within 30 days, and IAHSS certification or equivalent within a year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current Washington or Idaho state driver’s license.
• IAHSS basic certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire date.
• Minimum six months of experience in police, military, or security, preferably in a health care setting.
• Proof of a safe driving record obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state.
• BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• First Aid training within 30 days of hire.

Position Summary

The Security Officer is a key position on our Security Services team. In this role, you provide protection over MultiCare Health System properties and facilities. You will own the responsibility for the security and safety of MultiCare patients, employees, and visitors.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Current Washington or Idaho state driver’s license (driving is not required for this position at Navos Hospital).
• IAHSS basic certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire date.
• Minimum six (6) months of experience in police, military, or security, preferable in a health care setting.
• Proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MultiCare Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state. (Not required at Navos Hospital)
• BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• First Aid training within 30 days of hire.

Founded in 1896, MultiCare Deaconess Hospital is a 388-bed acute-care hospital serving the greater Spokane region. Deaconess is home to a Level III Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, Maternal Fetal Medicine program and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The pay scale is $22.34 - $32.14 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
