Job summary

Hudson Regional Health is seeking a Security Officer in Secaucus, NJ to serve as the first point of contact for patients, guests, and staff. The role requires maintaining a safe environment, guiding visitors, and ensuring secure access to facilities.

Responsibilities include patrols, incident documentation, and coordination with local police and fire departments for emergencies. Preferred candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, security/guest services experience, SORA, and BLS

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant security or guest services experience preferred.
• Experience in hospitality or guest relations preferred.
• BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, guests and staff warmly and provide directions.
• Proactively offer wayfinding and escorts to improve guest experience.
• Monitor visitors to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Control access to internal areas and exterior parking lots.
• Perform regular foot patrols to deter theft, vandalism, and trespassing.
• Secure and monitor offices per daily schedule.
• Coordinate with Police and Fire Departments during emergencies.
• Assist medical staff with restraints when necessary.
• Document daily activity logs, incidents, and safety investigations.
• Provide shift coverage for emergencies and overtime as needed.
• Follow directions from the Department Director and supervisor.

SECURITY OFFICER

Full Time Non Union Service Secaucus, NJ, US

Salary Range: $18.50 To $19.50 Annually

Core Duties & Guest Experience

Serves as the first point of contact, warmly greeting and assisting patients, guests, and staff with a high standard of courtesy and professionalism.

Elevates the overall guest experience by proactively offering wayfinding assistance, facility information, and personal escorts.

Monitors visitor conduct to ensure a safe, welcoming environment, diplomatically stopping and questioning unauthorized individuals as needed.

Security & Facility Operations

Controls access to all internal facility areas and exterior parking lots.

Conducts regular foot patrols across buildings and premises to actively prevent and detect fire, theft, vandalism, and trespassing.

Secures, unlocks, and monitors offices and premises according to daily operational schedules.

Manages emergency situations and disorderly individuals, coordinating rapidly with local Police and Fire Departments when required.

Assists medical staff in safely restraining patients when necessary.

Administrative & Team Support

Completes accurate, detailed written documentation, including daily activity logs, incident reports, and safety investigations.

Remains available to provide additional shift coverage for emergencies and overtime scenarios.

Adheres to the operational direction of the department Director and on-duty supervisor.

Education & Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).

2 years of relevant experience (preferred), ideally with a strong background in customer service, hospitality, or guest relations.

Credentials & Qualifications

SORA license through the State of New Jersey (preferred).

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred).
