Job summary

Dignity Health – Mark Twain Medical Center in San Andreas, CA is seeking a Security Officer to maintain safety by patrolling the facility, monitoring surveillance, and dispatching security personnel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Six months security officer experience in a hospital/healthcare setting or equivalent
  • CA Security Guard license required
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) within 90 days
  • CA Driver's license within 30 days

Responsibilities

  • Protect staff, patients and visitors by responding to calls for assistance promptly and prudently.
  • Monitor emergency codes and use radios to dispatch officers to locations as needed.
  • Report and investigate security breaches; log incidents clearly and timely.
  • Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and hospital codes.

Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Security Officer, you will maintain the highest level of safety and security by patrolling assigned areas, diligently deterring, detecting, and investigating suspicious activity or crime.
Every day you will effectively monitor electronic surveillance equipment and hospital emergency systems, dispatch appropriate personnel via radio, and actively patrol to protect individuals and property, all while embodying our core values and supporting strategic quality improvement.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional vigilance, strong observational skills, proficiency in electronic surveillance and dispatch systems, and a commitment to protecting our community while upholding our organizational values and contributing to a secure environment.
  • Protecting staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner. Calls may include incidents such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, or to emergency codes, and requests for opening doors. Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed; and report unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and supplies, including of radios and hospital codes.
  • Reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigate security breaches, conducts investigations, and writes incident reports. Ensures that all activities are logged. That incident reports are accurately completed that they are clear, concise, legible and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing hospital campus to ensure that dispatches are to right location. Keeping the organization’s mission, vision and values at the forefront of all decision making and action.

  • Six (6) months experience as security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, prior law enforcement or military service or One (1) year experience as a security officer.
