Unarmed Security Officer – Medical Facility
Citadel Security USA is hiring a dependable Full-Time Unarmed Security Officer to provide overnight coverage at an assigned medical facility in Rifle, Colorado.
This role requires an active security presence throughout a large, multi-building property. Officers will spend significant portions of each shift walking interior areas, checking attached buildings, conducting exterior patrols, monitoring CCTV, documenting activity, and responding appropriately to security or safety concerns.
The position is well suited for someone who remains alert during overnight hours, communicates calmly under pressure, pays close attention to detail, and understands the importance of professional interactions in a sensitive environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Interior & Exterior Patrol
- Conduct continuous foot patrols throughout assigned buildings and connected facilities during the shift.
- Patrol exterior areas surrounding the entire assigned property.
- Check designated entrances, exits, hallways, stairwells, common areas, parking areas, and other assigned locations.
- Maintain awareness of unusual activity, unauthorized access, hazards, and conditions requiring attention.
- Identify and report safety, maintenance, security, or environmental concerns.
- Complete required patrol activities in accordance with post orders and established procedures.
CCTV & Security Monitoring
- Monitor CCTV cameras and other assigned security systems.
- Observe activity throughout interior and exterior areas using available surveillance technology.
- Identify unusual activity or potential security concerns and communicate them promptly.
- Follow established procedures when responding to information observed through surveillance systems.
Incident Response & De-Escalation
- Respond to security concerns, disturbances, suspicious activity, and other calls for service.
- Assess situations and take appropriate action within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
- Use professional verbal communication and de-escalation techniques when interacting with individuals during challenging situations.
- Request additional assistance when circumstances require support beyond the officer's assigned responsibilities.
- Follow established emergency procedures and communicate relevant information to supervisors and appropriate personnel.
Reporting & Documentation
- Complete detailed daily activity reports and incident reports.
- Document observations, patrol activity, calls for service, and unusual occurrences accurately.
- Use TrackTik and other designated electronic reporting platforms to complete required documentation.
- Immediately communicate significant incidents or safety concerns through the appropriate reporting channels.
Professional Interaction
- Communicate respectfully with patients, visitors, employees, contractors, and other individuals encountered during assigned duties.
- Maintain a calm, courteous, and professional demeanor during routine and challenging interactions.
- Protect confidential information encountered while performing assigned responsibilities.
- Follow applicable post orders, company procedures, and assignment-specific requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to successfully complete a required background check.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Ability to work the assigned Thursday – Sunday overnight schedule consistently.
- Ability to walk and patrol for extended periods throughout a 10-hour shift.
- Ability to work throughout interior and exterior areas in varying conditions.
- Strong verbal communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive during overnight hours.
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow written procedures, post orders, and supervisor direction.
- Successfully complete required Citadel Security USA onboarding and New Hire Orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a security or safety-focused position.
- Experience conducting patrols across large buildings or multi-building properties.
- Familiarity with CCTV monitoring and surveillance systems.
- Experience using TrackTik or similar electronic reporting platforms.
- Previous experience with incident documentation and daily activity reports.
- Demonstrated ability to de-escalate difficult situations professionally.

- Remain alert and mobile throughout overnight shifts.
