Job summary

Havasu Landing Resort and Casino is seeking a full-time Security Officer to safeguard guests, staff and the property while maintaining calm under pressure. The role requires accurate handling of resort permit and fee transactions and delivering excellent guest service.

Security Officers patrol resort buildings and grounds, enforce rules, respond to incidents, and ensure all reports are completed in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to use a computer and MS Word at an intermediate level.
• Must read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Security, military or police experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk during an 8-hour shift; able to lift 50 pounds.
• Good vision (corrected to 20/20).

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of applicable laws and Resort rules and regulations.
• Patrol all resort buildings, grounds, and related areas.
• Secure doors, windows and gates and ensure alarms are activated at closing.
• Enforce resort rules and handle violations accordingly.
• Apprehend and detain perpetrators per legal protocol before authorities arrive.
• Ensure security equipment and vehicles are in proper working order.
• Report emergencies such as fire or security hazards to supervisor.
• Apply resort permits to vehicles to authorize passage.
• Prepare detailed incident reports using a computer in a timely manner.
• Provide escort by vehicle for transportation of funds and deposits.
• Respond to incidents including property damage, theft, or equipment malfunctions.
• Develop good rapport with guests and resort staff; provide excellent customer service.
• Perform other duties and support for other departments as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

Our Security Officers are responsible for the safety and security of guests, employees, and the property. Officers must stay calm under pressure during busy periods while correctly completing all cash and point of sale transactions for Resort permits and fees. Security Officers must deliver great guest service, have an ability to diffuse situations, and correctly complete all necessary reports. Security staff supports other department activities to help assure the highest levels of guest and employee service.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of all applicable laws such as Havasu Landing Resort Rules and Regulations and guidelines pertaining to Havasu Landing Resort.
• Patrol all Resort buildings,grounds, and related areas.

• Reportall emergencies such as fire, health, security hazards to Supervisor/Security Manager.
• Correctly apply Resort permits to all vehicles to authorize passage into Havasu Landing Resort according to the current fees and/or rates.
• Proficient use of a computer to complete detailed incident reports in a timely manner.
• Send e-mail and pass on information to subordinates and management.
• Provide escort by vehicle for the transportation of all funds, deposits and other business-related items to the Administration office.
• Respond and report on incidents to includingbut not limited to; property damage, theft, unusual occurrences, accidents, and/or malfunctions of equipment or machinery.
• Effectively develop a good rapport with guests of the Havasu Landing Resort and Resort staff.
• Provide excellent customer service either individually or in a group situation.
• Perform all other duties/support services for other departments, guest, employees and the property as assigned.
