Job summary

Security America, Inc. is seeking part-time security officers to patrol assigned areas, report suspicious activity, and coordinate with law enforcement as needed. Flexible schedules offered with potential to advance to full-time roles.

Officers may receive a $300 sign-on bonus after 90 days for full-time, with a separate $100 bonus after 90 days for part-time. Benefits include health, vision, IRA options, paid vacation and holidays, plus life and dental insurance where offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• New hires welcome; prior security experience is a plus but not required.
• Must be able to work flexible schedules and be drug-free.

Responsibilities

• Patrols and monitors an assigned area; report suspicious activity.
• Contacts law enforcement or fire department in emergencies.
• Check doors and gates after hours to secure property.
• Investigate reports of suspicious activity on site.
• Escort discharged staff, trespassers, and unwelcome parties off premises.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Skills / Requirements

NEW HIRE BONUS given to new employees - $300.00 full time bonus after first 90 days worked. $100.00 bonus for part time after first 90 days worked.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Patrols and monitors an assigned area; report suspicious activities and document all suspicious activity;
• Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency;
• After business hours, checks doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure;
• Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property;
• Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises;
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail;
• Possess written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations;
• Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings;
• Ability to communicate using a phone or hand held radios;

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience a plus, but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly;
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipment;
• Prolonged periods standing and observing the property surroundings;
• Have the ability to twist and bend at the waist frequently;

Applicants meeting the basic requirements for the position must:

• Be at least 18 years of age;
• Be able to work flexible schedules;
• Have a high school diploma, GED, or 10 years of verifiable work experience;
• Applicants being considered for hire must drug free before beginning work or receiving an offer of employment. Refusal to submit to testing will result in disqualification of further employment consideration;
• Have access to reliable transportation to and from the work location;
• Be authorized to work in the U.S.;
• Be able to meet state licensing requirements for Security Officers, if required;
• Must be willing to receive the required vaccinations for the facility.

-Current open position is part time but could lead to full time if desired.
