Cooper Norcross Health is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, visitors and staff across campus facilities. You will monitor entrances, respond to alarms, provide escorts, and perform fire watch duties while maintaining a courteous, service-driven mindset.

Responsibilities include de-escalating incidents, reporting suspicious activity, and applying safety protocols during medical emergencies. A valid driver’s license and required certifications are essential.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years security, law enforcement, or customer service experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors and employees through security post coverage, monitoring entrances, responding to alarms and requests for security assistance.
• Perform fire watch, parking enforcement, and provide escorts when requested; investigate and report suspicious activity.
• Maintain safety measures during Medical Assistance responses, BRRT, overdose events, and de-escalation of violent interactions.
• Operate security tools such as walk-through metal detectors, hand wands, and package x-ray when applicable.

Short Description

Ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors and employees as well as protect and preserve property interests of Cooper University Health Care through security post coverage, monitoring entrances, responding to alarms and requests for security assistance, fire watch responsibilities, parking enforcement, providing escorts when requested, investigating and reporting suspicious activity, and patrolling the interior and exterior of the property. Implement safety and security measures during Medical Assistance response, including BRRT response, overdose, and de-escalate violent patient/visitor interactions. Provide weapons detection by use of walk-through metal detector, hand wands, and package x-ray machine where applicable. Customer service is a core value of the Security Services Department, while inaction or a lack of attentiveness is strictly prohibited.

Experience Required

• 1-3 years security, law enforcement, or customer service related experience preferred.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

License/Certification Requirements

• Workplace Violence Prevention Certification, Narcan Administration, and Stop the Bleed training required within 6 months in position.
• Must have a valid driver's license. Motor vehicle record must meet CUHC standard criteria to be permitted to drive CUHC vehicles.
• Current SORA (Security Officer Registration Act) Certification preferred.
• IAHSS Security BASIC Certification preferred.
• Current NJ-CPRCertification (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) required within 6 months in position.
