Job summary

Pūlama Lānaʻi is seeking a Security Guard to maintain a safe and secure environment for tenants. The role involves patrolling premises, monitoring for suspicious activity, and reporting hazards to supervisors. The position is hourly, non-exempt, and reports to the Security Manager on Lanai.

Qualifications include 2–3 years in security or law enforcement, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure. Valid certifications and a Hawaii driver’s license are required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
• Requires working to the established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas, checking for hazards and unusual or suspicious circumstances.
• Investigates and/or reports for correction or follow-up actions.
• Responds to alarms and/or dispatched calls. Determines what actions to take based on the situation, facts known, and position limitations.
• Prepares incident reports and submits to supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Maintains a safe and secure environment for tenants by patrolling and monitoring premises. Patrols premises to prevent and detect signs of suspicious or unusual activity. Investigates and reports hazards and unusual or suspicious circumstances.

Compensation

$29.14/hour (non-exempt).

Required Work Cards/Certifications

• Valid Hawaii State Guard Certification card
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification
• Valid Hawaii Driver’s License and successful review of Motor Vehicle Record

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision.
• The employee is required to operate objects, tools, or controls.
