Responsibilities include patrolling, parking control, securing offices, monitoring visitors, assisting with restraints, transporting personnel and equipment in hospital vehicles, and participating in investigations with records and incident reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of conflict resolution and management of aggression.
• 20hr - security training.
• PERC card.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess organizational skills.

• Ability to read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Patrols hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intruders; reports safety concerns.
• Controls parking and traffic flow; enforces parking regulations.
• Secures and unlocks offices; secures patient valuables and maintains logs.
• Monitors conduct of visitors and questions unauthorized individuals.
• Assists hospital personnel and visitors; aids with restraints as needed.
• Transports personnel and equipment in hospital vehicles; escorts in parking lots and buildings.
• Participates in investigations; maintains records and prepares incident reports.

Compensation: $18.75 hr to $22.59 hr
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.

Position Summary

Provides security for patients,employees,and visitors. Protects hospital buildings,assets,and premises.

Responsibilities

• Patrols hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intruders. Reports on safety and/or fire hazards or security violations. 20%
• Controls parking and traffic flow in parking areas; enforces parking regulations. 15%
• Secures and/or unlocks offices and facilities.Securespatient valuables or lost and found articles;maintainslogs of items received. 15%
• Monitors conduct of visitors on hospitalpremises;confrontunauthorized people for questioning as needed. 15%
• Responds to inquiries for advice orassistancefrom hospital personnel,studentsand visitors;aidswith restraints of patients as needed. 15%
• Transportspersonnel and equipment in hospital owned vehicles. Escorts personnelparkinglots and hospital buildings asrequested. 10%
• Participates in investigations;maintainsrecords and prepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities. Maintains department records,reports,and files asrequired. 10%

Work Experience

1 to 3 years of Security Officerexperience.
