Job summary

Securitas, Inc. is seeking a Security Officer to provide a visible, professional presence on campus grounds where animals and allergens may be present.

The role requires customer service excellence, basic computer knowledge, and the ability to walk and stand for extended periods, both indoors and outdoors. Responsibilities include patrolling on foot and by vehicle, greeting employees and visitors, issuing badges, and reporting incidents.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 25 years of age or older.
• On-campus security position with walking patrols.
• Must be comfortable with animals and allergens.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Must pass drug screen and background check.
• Veterinary hospital on site.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional presence at assigned posts.
• Walk approximately 0.2 miles to the assigned post from the building entrance.
• Greet and assist employees and visitors every 3–10 minutes.
• Issue badges to employees and visitors.
• Operate a company-issued cell phone for Activity and Incident Reports.
• Use a two-way radio and telephone to communicate with delivery drivers and internal departments.
• Remain at post until properly relieved.
• Provide excellent customer service with a friendly and professional demeanor.

Security Officer

Wage: $17.00-18.00/ hour

Position Details

• Must be at least 25 years of age or older per client.
• College Campus.
• Walking.
• Customer Service.
• Must be comfortable with animals.
• Vet. Hosp. on site.
• Will be in areas with animals and allergens.
• Foot patrol conducted every hour.
• Vehicle patrols every 2 hours.
• Standing and walking inside and outside, including up and down stairs.
• Computer usage will be required.
• Basic computer knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional presence at assigned posts.
• Stand for extended periods during key activities such as:
  • Shift changes (10–30 minutes)
  • Employee entry through metal detectors (1 minute)
  • Greeting employees and visitors (1–3 minutes)
  • Monitoring open overhead doors (30 minutes to 1+ hours as needed)
• Walk approximately 0.2 miles to the assigned post from the building entrance.
• Greet and assist employees and visitors every 3–10 minutes or as needed.
• Issue badges to employees and visitors while stationed at the post.
• Operate a company-issued cell phone to complete Activity and Incident Reports.
• Use a two-way radio and telephone to communicate effectively with delivery drivers and internal departments.
• Confirm delivery appointments and relay information to the receiving department.
• Remain at post until properly relieved.
• Stay alert and refrain from using unauthorized devices (e.g., earbuds, movies) while on duty.
• Provide excellent customer service with a friendly and professional demeanor.

Security Officer/Guard

• Must have excellent Customer Service skills
• Security positions require you pass our drug screen and background check
• Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers/Guard

Job Requirements of the Security Officer/Security Guard include but are not limited to

• Security Officers/Security Guards observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.
• Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
• Additional physical requirements of the security officer/guard may include frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds
