Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background investigations will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen is required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and/or property staff.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of building interiors, exteriors, parking areas, and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and report irregularities to site management.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations using established protocols.
• Prepare daily activity, incident, and patrol reports.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Driver in Melville, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: Sun 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (‘Anchor Shifts’): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and/or property staff by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control practices, and emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and delivery or contractor entry in accordance with site policies; report irregularities to appropriate property representatives and/or emergency services.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and documenting actions taken.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site management.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security-related license is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
