Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Software Engineer, Security Observability to design and build secure, scalable systems that strengthen our security observability infrastructure. You will develop data pipelines and collaborate with cross-functional teams across Detection & Response and security engineering to detect and respond to threats.

This role can be remote; relocation assistance is available to offices in San Francisco, Seattle, or New York. U.S. citizenship is required due to security requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience with Python and/or Go.
• Experience building secure, scalable systems and data pipelines.
• Cloud experience and infrastructure as code with Terraform or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable software systems for security observability across OpenAI infrastructure.
• Build and maintain data pipelines that centralize security-relevant data from diverse sources.
• Improve resilience and reliability of data systems to ensure high platform availability.
• Collaborate with Detection & Response and other security teams to reduce security risk.
• Contribute to data engineering in support of forensic investigations and compliance efforts.
