Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Principal Security ML Research Engineer to advance threat protections by developing AI/ML solutions. You will tackle real-world cyber threats, prototype ML workflows, and collaborate with a diverse team focused on security analytics and research impact.

You will mentor engineers, align research with product roadmaps, and share findings through blogs, papers, and conferences to advance state-of-the-art security ML.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or 5+ years designing security ML models.
• Experience with vector search technology for data retrieval, RAG techniques, DL, clustering, and graph algorithms.
• Knowledge of behavioral anomaly detection in security telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Design ML architectures to enhance threat detection and response capabilities; prototype AI agent workflows; collaborate across teams to define specs.
• Develop ML models to detect behavioral anomalies in security telemetry; profile threat actors and refine security use cases.
• Build evaluation frameworks and benchmarking pipelines; minimize false positives and test robustness against adversarial attacks.
• Mentor engineers in ML best practices; align security research with product roadmaps; collaborate with engineering teams.
• Produce technical blogs and white papers; present insights at conferences and engage with the security research community.
