Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts is seeking a Direct Security Manager at the Courtyard Orlando Lake Buena Vista, located within the Marriott Village in Orlando. You will oversee security and safety programs, conduct rounds, manage emergencies, and collaborate with department heads to protect guests and staff.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and training abilities, plus familiarity with CCTV, access control, and incident reporting.

Qualifications

• Must have basic First Aid training.
• Knowledge of hotel operations, including security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning.
• Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure accomplishment of goals.
• Able to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate.
• Written communication skills to be concise, well organized, complete, and clear.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Direct, monitor and assist in all hotel security and safety related programs.
• Perform protective, preventative, safety, and security related enforcement functions touring hotel complex to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all hotel guests, associates and vendors.
• Implements and monitors all related SOP’s, Mission Vision, and Values in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances, and threats.
• Complete daily documented tours of entire hotel complex, promotes safe work practices.
• Train managers and associates on all Emergency procedures.
• Work with hotel department heads and MOD’s to ensure hotel security.
• May participate in hotel investigations.
• Maintain key control procedures in partnership with Chief Engineer.
• Interview, hire, train, evaluate, and discipline when appropriate.
• Handle security related issues and stay informed on local criminal activity.
• Understand and use security related systems – CCTV, Radio, Key Card System, Fire Panel.
