Job summary

Plugout is seeking a Low Voltage Technician to join our on-site security installations team, leading projects to install CCTV, alarms, access control, and IDS to a high standard. A CAN DO attitude and team focus are required for on-site work across multiple facility locations.

You will read electrical blueprints and schematics, test systems, manage cabling per NEC, and document work thoroughly while maintaining strict safety practices on every site, training junior technicians as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience installing CCTV, alarms, access control, sensors, and IDS.
• Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics.
• Experience testing systems and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of NEC standards and safe construction practices.
• Willingness to train junior technicians.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Low Voltage Technician to join our team and take the lead on physical security installations. You will work in a team to install security devices to a high standard. CAN DO attitude is required. This is a fully on-site position.

What You Will Be Responsible For:

• Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting low voltage security systems including CCTV, alarms, access control, sensors, and IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems).
• Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately install and service security equipment.
• Conduct system testing, remote access software setup, and technical troubleshooting support to ensure optimal performance.
• Manage cabling, wiring, and conduit installation adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and construction best practices.
• Train and mentor junior technicians on system design principles, equipment troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all work performed, including schematics updates and service reports.
• Ensuring all installation work meets quality standards and is properly tested and documented before closeout.
• Enforcing site safety, conducting regular safety briefings, and responding immediately to any unsafe conditions.
• Keeping the Lead informed on daily progress, material receipts, blockers, and any issues that arise on site.
