Responsible for the efficient operation of the Security Department on the assigned shift in accordance with company policies, procedures and controls. Maintains close and continuous surveillance of all assigned non-gaming areas on the property, oversees investigations, and ensures the safety of guests, Team Members, and company assets. Provides or coordinates emergency medical aid (First Aid, CPR, AED) when EMT staff are unavailable, already engaged, or when directed by management.

Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university, or four to six years related experience, or an equivalent combination of college and experience is preferred. At least one year experience as a Security Sergeant or equivalent is preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write clear and accurate reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or Team Members. Ability to be recorded while speaking for training, events, and awards.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk or hear. The Team Member is also regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls. The Team Member is frequently required to sit. The Team Member is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The Team Member must be physically capable of performing CPR, utilizing an AED, and assisting with lifting or moving guests and Team Members during medical emergencies. The Team Member is regularly required to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds and occasionally up to one hundred pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to walk the stairwells from the basement level all the way to the 11th floor of the Picayune Tower in preparation of an emergency.

May be required to place an individual under citizen arrest and in handcuffs when warranted. Must carry handcuffs and a bodycam at all times.
