Job summary

deCircle seeks a senior security engineer to build and own the company-wide security program in Brooklyn, including cloud, appsec and data governance. The role requires hands-on coding and architecture review as a core IC, and will be the first dedicated security hire on-site in Dumbo, Brooklyn.

Visa transfers are welcome for this on-site position. The role reports to a security-focused leadership team and offers a competitive compensation package with equity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in security or software engineering.
• Hands-on individual contributor who writes code and reviews architecture.
• First dedicated security hire; on-site in Brooklyn.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the company-wide security program (cloud, appsec, data governance, people).
• Implement access controls, JIT permissions, and data governance for sensitive customer data.
• Lead SOC 2 end-to-end with an existing vendor.
• Threat-model products, pipelines, AI workflows and build technical controls.
• Define secure defaults and tooling for engineering.
