Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Security Installer III to perform onsite installation and programming of integrated security fire and security systems for commercial customers.

You will read blueprints, follow schematics, and ensure safe, high-quality installations while coordinating with customers. Ideal candidates have 3–7 years of electrical/electronic experience, read drawings fluently, and can mentor junior installers.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years electrical/electronic equipment experience

• Ability to operate fleet vehicle safely
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Some technical school training is a plus

Responsibilities

• Install devices per schematics and hook-up procedures
• Dismantle and reconstruct equipment as required
• Work safely to prevent injuries and property damage
• Coordinate with police/fire departments and notify emergency contacts
• Mentor less experienced installers on larger projects
• Lead installation teams on complex jobs (where applicable)

What you will do

• As a critical part of the team, the Commercial Installer works onsite with our commercial customers to set up and program their Integrated Security fire and security systems. The Commercial Installer also dismantles and reconstructs equipment when necessary.

How you will do it

• Installs appropriate devices; dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
• Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
• Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
• Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
• Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Tests operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
• Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.

• Some technical school training is a plus.
• 3-7 years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $26.92-$37.01 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
