Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Alarm Installer to perform quality installations and maintenance of life safety product lines across customer sites. You will learn to complete installation acknowledgements, adhere to a structured schedule, and ensure on-time completion of installations.

Required are an Alarm Installer License and Texas Fire Alarm License within one year, plus 5+ years of experience and ability to read blueprints. Lifting up to 50-70 lbs and occasional travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Alarm Installer License is required and testing may be needed before starting.
• Texas Fire Alarm License must be obtained within one year of start date.
• Experience reading blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specs and manuals.
• Experience with hand tools, multimeter, and handheld power tools.
• Able to troubleshoot systems and perform repairs.
• Capable of lifting 50–70 lbs and working in tight or elevated spaces.
• Flexible hours including nights and weekends; travel may be required.

What you will do

Responsible for meeting customer expectations while performing quality installations.

How you will do it

• Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, installing and preventative maintenance of life safety product lines as well as similar competitive manufacturer's product line.

• Learn to complete Install Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices, such as laptop computers and/or hard copy.

• Follow and maintain a highly structured installation schedule.

• Complete assigned installations on time.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

What we look for

Required

• Alarm Installer License required. Will need to test before you start or already have it.

• Must obtain Texas Fire Alarm License withing one year of start date.

• Certification desired: Ccure, Lenel, Kantech, Amag, Brivo, Hirsch, Genetec, ExacqVision, Bosch VMS, Bosch Intrusion, DMP Intrusion and Vista 128/250.

• 5+ years of experience.

• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.

• Experience with hand tools, multi-meter usage and handheld power tools.

• Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.

• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.

• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.

• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, and occasional weekends to meet customer requirements.

• Occasional travel may be required.

• Demonstrate a high level of customer service.

• Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.

• Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $23-31 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
