Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking an experienced security installer to deploy intrusion alarms, access control, and CCTV systems. You will read diagrams, plan layouts, install hardware, and verify performance on customer sites.

The role requires independence, a valid driver's license, and strong working knowledge of low-voltage security systems. Travel to commercial and industrial sites is expected as part of the job.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, testing, and commissioning of intrusion alarms, access control systems, CCTV, and related low-voltage security systems.
• Interpret technical drawings and manuals to plan layouts and wiring.
• Install devices, panels, wiring, and hardware per project specs.
• Test system functionality and ensure compliance with codes and customer requirements.

Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform installation, testing, and commissioning of intrusion alarms, access control systems, CCTV, and related low-voltage security systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Install system components including devices, panels, wiring, and associated hardware according to project specifications.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete installation work efficiently and safely.
• Complete installation documentation, work orders, and project reports accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job progress and project status.
• Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in installation, testing, and commissioning of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to work independently and complete standard installation jobs without direct supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.
• Experience with commercial security systems and integrated low-voltage platforms preferred.
• Manufacturer certifications in security or access control systems preferred.

Shape Other Duties:

Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments. Ability to lift 50+ pounds. Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments. Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites. Use of hand tools and testing equipment. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
