Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Norwalk, CT is seeking an entry-level Security Install Support Technician to assist with the installation of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems under direct supervision.

You will support site preparation, mounting, wiring, testing, and documentation, maintain tools and safety standards, and communicate professionally with customers and team members while traveling to job sites as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No minimum experience required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical systems.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under direct supervision.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work effectively in team environments.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

The Security Install Support Technician is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with the installation of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems. The technician works under direct supervision.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist senior technicians with the installation of intrusion alarms, access control systems, CCTV, and other low-voltage security systems.

• Support the setup, mounting, wiring, and testing of system components under supervision.

• Use hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.

• Help prepare job sites and organize materials, tools, and equipment for installation projects.

• Assist with reading basic blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.

• Follow all company safety procedures, customer site requirements, and applicable codes and standards.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in clean and proper working condition.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.

• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.

• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.

• Use of hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

Pay:

• $22 per hour.
