GardaWorld Security Services is seeking a Security Officer to provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a secure environment across client sites in Virginia. The role emphasizes welcoming guests, verifying identities, and guiding visitors with professionalism.

Responsibilities include access control, performing patrols, inspecting equipment, and coordinating with emergency teams when needed. A valid HS diploma or GED and a strong safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Able to pass an extensive screening process.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient with basic phone and computer tasks.
• 3+ years of Security, Military or Law Enforcement experience preferred.
• State license if required.
• Active DCJS certification.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist visitors, verify identity, and guide guests.
• Control access to facilities and manage visitor flow.
• Conduct regular patrols to identify security risks.
• Inspect security equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Respond to incidents and coordinate with emergency teams.
• Answer inquiries in person or by phone.
• Prepare and file incident reports; communicate security concerns.
• Ensure the safety and protection of people and property.

As a Security Officer - There is a high focus on customer service since you will be working with people on all shifts, in environments such as office towers, hotels, shopping centers, etc.

• Set schedule: Open availability for scheduling required for weekdays and weekends. Must be available to work mornings, evenings, and overnights. Days off could vary and weekends are required. This is a flex schedule. Would not guarantee full time hours.

Responsibilities Of a Security Guard

• Customer service duties like welcoming, verifying identity, and guiding visitors
• Manage access control
• Perform regular patrols to identify potential risks
• Inspect security equipment and report any maintenance needs
• Respond to incidents, provide first aid, and coordinate with emergency teams
• Answer questions in person or by phone
• Write incident reports and communicate security concerns
• Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property

Qualifications For Security Guard

• Be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Be able to provide documentation of High School Diploma or GED
• Be able to ace (and pass) an extensive screening process
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Proficient in basic phone & computer skills
• You have at least 3+ years Security, Military, Law Enforcement experience - even better!
• You have a state license if required
• You have an active DCJS
• You are at least 21 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements
• Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time
• Must be outgoing and have excellent customer service and communication skills
• Must have open availabilty
• Must have no face, neck, or hand tattoos
• Must be able to maintain GardaWorld's grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards
