Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Newark, DE. This role offers flexible hours with fixed anchor shifts and opportunities to earn more by picking up extra shifts. Pay rate is $18.35 per hour, with a schedule including DayTime and Sat/Sun evenings.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and/or vendors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of loading areas, parking lots, access points, trailer yards, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, directing authorized visitors and delivery personnel, and reporting access concerns according to site procedures.
• Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
